John
Cronkite
Dr. John
Cronkhite lives in Bloomington, Indiana, where he serves at
the Sherwood Oaks Christian church. He is a retired emergency
physician. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of
Illinois–Urbana campus, where he became actively involved with
the University of Illinois Christian Student Fellowship.
Following
that, he earned his medical degree from the University of
Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. After medical school,
John performed his internship and residency training at the
University Hospitals of Cleveland, where he met his wife
Susan.
He worked in
the private practice of Pediatrics in Appleton, Wisconsin
early in his career before changing his specialty to Emergency
Medicine. He recently retired from serving a career in the
emergency department of the Bloomington Hospital, Bloomington,
Indiana.
He has
attained board certification with the American Board of
Pediatrics, the American Board of Emergency Medicine, and the
American Academy of Emergency Medicine, as well as being
certified in the discipline of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
He served as
an elder at the Ellettsville Christian Church and was a
founding board member of the Richland–Bean Blossom Healthcare
Facility. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for
the Christian Student Fellowship at the University of
Illinois.
His
interests include music, reading, and Civil War history.
Susan and
John have two children, Matt and Jane.
Dr.
Cronkhite has served on the CCF/Axiom board since 2009.
